Yet another blog, by yet another person.
Random stuff about Python, Java, Scala, and other random stuff.
I had heard of the film Dr. Strangelove quite often, but I had refused to read even a review, thinking it was either some mushy story or some “artsy” nonsense. Then I started hearing more and more about it.
Finally, I just could not resist it when I saw two copies of Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb at the local public library. I started watching the film, without reading the blurb on the cover.
I was surprised that it was a comedy (of course, I did not read the blurb), and that too of the most hysterical type. I am a big fan of deranged comedy, and this was one of the best.
There are two hilarious and unforgettable moments in the film.
The first one is that of Major Kong [Slim Pickens] going down with the bomb like a cowboy spurring his horse, crying “Yee haa!”.
The second moment is the closing line by Dr. Strangelove [Peter Sellers]—probably the best closing line I have heard yet. (It is funnier when you watch it the second time):
Mein Führer! I can walk!
Note: The above quote will not make much sense out of context.
